Cameroonian Students from JFN-HUI Participate in NASA-HAB Program : A Historic First for Cameroon

For the first time, a group of Cameroonian students has been selected for the NASA High Altitude Balloon Program (NASA-HAB 2024), an international program that allows students to design and launch high-altitude payloads. This launch will take place in August 2024 from New Mexico, USA.

This project, facilitated by Nanosatellite Missions Design LTD (NMD) in partnership with the National Committee for Technology Development (CNDT) under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation (MINRESI), represents a unique opportunity for Cameroonian students to participate in a mission that will reach the International Space Station (ISS) in 2025.

The students received intensive training in satellite design, space mission design, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the configuration of TinyGS ground stations, equipping them with the necessary skills to participate in this program.

A special event will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM GMT+1, on the JFN-HUI campus in Douala to celebrate this historic achievement. This event will mark a significant milestone not only for Cameroon but for all of Africa in the field of space sciences.
