The November 2024 Ordinary Session has come and gone at the National Assembly, the Institution has written a new page in its history
It was an unusual day today, 11 December 2024 at the National Assembly of Cameroon. Unusual because the closing Plenary Sitting of the November 2024 Ordinary Session took place in the newly constructed National Assembly Complex after spending five years at the Yaounde Conference Centre. The excitement in the air was visible through the lengthy conversations among the MPs.
As they took possession of their new working environment which from every indication is one of the best in Africa, the Sitting in this brand new Plenary Hall has opened a new page in the beautiful and rich history of the National Assembly which is the oldest Political Institution of the Republic of Cameroon.
The acclamation the Right Honourable Speaker received from all the MPs across the political spectrum which is now at the National Assembly and from the Staff in the beginning and at the end of the Plenary Sitting was telling enough that everybody is happy with the realization of this magnificent Building that saw the direct follow - up of its construction by the Right Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly,
Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
The Speaker left no stone unturned to make sure that the Building was constructed according to the specifities and characteristics of what obtained in the former Building. The lone item of today's closing Plenary Sitting was the speech of the Speaker. His speech was focused more on all the activities that took place during the 30 - days long Session.
The Speaker was assisted in his duties today by Hon.
