FETRANS-CEEAC at MINTRANSPORT : the Minister of Transport received in audience members of the executive committee of this Federation

On the sidelines of the first General Assembly of the Transport Federation of the Economic Community of Central African States (FETRANS-CEEAC), the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLE BIBEHE, accompanied by the Minister Delegate and Director of Road Transport, received in audience on May 23, 2023, members of the executive committee of this Federation, delegations from Chad, Central African Republic, Gabon, Congo, Cameroon and invitees from Nigeria.

The objective of this meeting was to present to the Minister of Transport the unifying investment projects in the transport sector and those to be carried out in Cameroon by FETRANS-CEEAC.

In the course of discussions, the President of FETRANS-CEEAC thanked the Government of Cameroon for accepting to host the headquarter of the Federation. He also appreciated MINTRANSPORT, MINEPAT, DGSN and SED, for their support during the two days work session.

The Minister of Transport on his part reassured members of the Federation of an immediate transmission of their concerns and worries to the appropriate quarters.

FETRANS-CEEAC, it should be recalled, was born from the backdrop of the regional workshop on transit in West and Central Africa, held from April 11 to 13, 2018, under the aegis of the World Bank, African Transport Policy Programme, World Customs Organisation, International Road Transport Organisation and Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Organisation.

Representatives of transporters' organisation, heads of transport companies, service providers to the transport sector and approved custom brokers had adopted the idea of setting up an umbrella transport organisation in the ECCAS sub-region; thus, the birth of FETRANS-CEEAC.
