2025 Presidentials: Dion Ngute Makes Strong Case for Biya in Kumba
The population of Kumba in particular and Meme Division in general has rejected anything opposition, reiterating their resolve to give President Paul Biya massive victory come Sunday October 12.

The commitment was taken through speeches and other declarations at a mega campaign rally which the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute organized in Kumba yesterday to drum support for President Biya.
The PM was in Kumba for the inauguration of the Kumba City Grandstand and a road Confirming its readiness through various spokespersons, the people of Kumba said President Paul Biya remains their best choice.
The City Mayor of Kumba, Gregory Ntemoyok Mewanu, who doubles as the Head of the Kumba I Communal Campaign Team, reassured Prime Minister Dion Ngute that the people of Kumba have every reason to vote for Biya given the numerous projects in the metropolis.
He thanked the PM for having facilitated the achievements in kumba.
While enumerating these achievements such as the ongoing cooking Gas Plant project at Kang Barombi, Kumba-Ekondo Titi Road, Kumba City Grandstand, modern roads at Cameroon Street, among others, the Kumba City Mayor said the population is ready to give Biya massive votes.
Mewanu expressed gratitude to Biya for upgrading the Kumba District Hospital to Kumba Regional Hospital Annex and the creation of a hemodialysis center at the Hospital.
He revealed that through President Paul Biya, a number of other projects will see the light of day in Kumba such as the construction of the road linking Tavern Street to Mbonge Road to commence next week through the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, MINDHU.
Meanwhile, the President of CPDM Meme 1A Section, Honorable Lawson Tabot Bakia, noted that Kumba will give at least 70% votes to President Paul Biya at the poll.
This, he said, is because of all the good things he has done for the city.
He told the people of Kumba that if they do not vote for President Paul Biya, then they are challenging the success of their children as well as peace in the city.
"It's Biya's election. SDF is dead and buried in Meme Division" he hammered.
On his part, the King of Kumba and Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw, Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, who is a member of the National Campaign Team reiterated his position for the people of Kumba to vote Biya.
He emphasized that President Biya is the best choice for the people of Kumba and as such he should be voted overwhelmingly.
Just like the previous speakers, the Head of the Meme Divisional Campaign Team for Meme, Justice Chief Benjamin Mutanga Itoe, confirmed the intention of Kumba to accord a landslide victory for Biya in the October 12 poll.
Dion Ngute On Biya as Best Choice
Responding to confirmation of the people of Kumba, Prime Minister Dion Ngute called on them to vote massively for President Paul Biya. He said by voting for him, it will help to keep him, their own, as Prime Minister, Head of Government.
Dion Ngute noted that he was in Kumba because President Paul Biya sent him to see his own people after touring other regions.
"Why look elsewhere when President Biya has shown love to us. He is with us in good and bad times," he said.
He added: " I want us to continue to trust in him because he trusts us by voting for him. We have no doubt he will win but if counting the votes and Kumba is low, will it be a good thing? "
The PM stressed that for this reason, the people of Kumba have to give their votes to President Biya so as to guarantee continuous development of the city.
To him, the people of Kumba should demonstrate love for Kumba by massively voting for him on Sunday.
PM Decorated by Chiefs
During his presentation, Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko rallied chiefs of Meme Division to honour Prime Minister Dion Ngute.
He was conferred with the traditional award of "The tiger that does not eat grass”. This, they chiefs said, is in recognition of his outstanding leadership, wisdom, and contribution not only in the development of Meme Division but to the entire Nation.
Supports National Interpools Champion, Kumba City FC
Kumba City FC, champion of this year’s national Interpools, received an offer of five million (5,000,000) FCFA from the Prime Minister.
Kumba City Grandstand Project
In the meantime, the Kumba City Grandstand project was presented by the contracting firm. The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the firm, Stephen Epoke, explained the two phases of the contract from award to completion. He said his firm took over the contract for the first phase in August 2024 after it was abandoned for over five years.
Due to extreme urgency, works, he said, started immediately for a period of three months while the second phase began in July 2025.
Epoke said the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou'ou Ndong, was the vote holder to ensure the project was realized.
