National Assembly News Round Up
The activities of the National Assembly started as early as 9:00am today Tuesday 5 July 2022 with a Chairmen's Conference that deemed admissible the 2023 - 2025 medium term economic and budgetary programming document to be debated on the House Chamber. The Chairmen's Conference was chaired by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.
It was 10:00am on the Clock when the installation of Members of the Cameroon's Parliamenry Alliance for food and nutrition safety were officially commissioned into their functions by Senior Deputy Speaker, Hon. Hilarion Etong.
The Senior Deputy Speaker urged them to go to work immediately since the Country is already facing a nutrition crisis in some parts. He equally urged them to make urgent proposals to the Government so the nutrition situation of Cameroonians can be ameliorated as soon as possible.
Later at 11: am, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the National Assembly chaired the budget orientation debate at the House Chamber. He was assisted in his duties today by Hon. Bakia Lawson, Secretary of the Bureau and the first assistant Secretary General of the National Assembly, Mr. Abdoullaye Daouda.
There was a heated debate in the morning that prompted the proceedings to be suspended for some hours. Later at 4pm, the plenary sitting resumed and all went well as planned. It was a happy ending as Mps departed from the Yaounde Conference Center which is currently playing host to the National Assembly.
It should be noted that the budget orientation document was presented by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Louis Paul Motaze.
