Cavaye Yeguie Djibril: The Political Man of all times at the National Assembly of Cameroon

Emotions ran high, speculations were many but those who are close to the Right Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly attest that he has been very confident and calm although it took time for the Bureau election to hold. The Speaker was calm and confident because he occupies the number one place in the political allies of the Head of State whom he has promised in several instances that he will never betray his confidence no matter what.

The two men have come a long way and time has proven that they are the best political union or partnership that Cameroon has ever seen. There is therefore no doubt why the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya has once again renewed his confidence on Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, who has emphatically delivered on the political agendas of the Head of State since he became Speaker in 1992. His reelection today Monday 27 March 2023, makes him the Political Man of all times of the National Assembly. It is worthy to know that the Speaker climbed the leadership ladder of the National Assembly slowly but steadily.

From a normal MP to Questor, Vice-President and finally to the prestigious position of Speaker that he has occupied uninterrupted for a very long while now. The main reasons for his longevity in power is owed to his competent and Fatherly management of his Constituents and the National Assembly as an Institution. That is Mps and Staff but the most important reason for his long stay in power is based on his sincere collaboration and loyalty to President Paul Biya. The score of his reelection today that stands at 146 votes and 13 invalid ballots portrays vividly that Mps across the political spectrum still believe in the political process of Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

In the same vein, one of the major changes that happened at the National Assembly today is the designation of Hon Melingui Roger as the Chief Whip of the CPDM Parliamentary Group. Hon. Melingui is the MP of Mefou et Afamba Constituency. He has thus replaced Hon. Ndongo Essomba Jean Bernard who died on 17 March 2023. Stay tuned to more Parliamentary News.
